Developing a strategic partnership with the Journalism Diversity Fund to create a robust source for diverse editorial interns and entry-level reporters for our UK office.Both of our BRGs, Forbes+ and ForbesBLK are key resources for creating belonging, supporting inclusivity, as well as offering our employees a safe community to amplify their voices, while providing education and programming to Forbes. Launching Forbes+ and further establishing ForbesBLK: Over the past year, we’ve added a business resource group, Forbes+, to support the LGBTQIA+ employee base.This year 6 leaders from our editorial team have been selected to participate. Offering McKinsey’s Executive Leadership Training to diverse rising leaders in our newsroom.To date, we have sourced 10 student journalists from Morehouse, Howard, Rust, North Carolina A&T, Clark Atlanta, and Hampton University. Further establishing the HBCU Scholar Journalists Program (formerly Forbes Fellowship Program) and HBCU Journalist Academy – creating a pipeline of HBCU-sourced business journalists for the Forbes newsroom and beyond.Initiatives and programs that continue to drive these conversations for Forbes:. In addition, our overall diversity representation grew from 27% in 2020 to 30% in 2021. Our diverse employee population in 2021 grew by 17% through the efforts of recruitment and retention.We understand the value and importance of building more diverse teams, while also ensuring we’re creating a more inclusive and equitable workplace together. Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a critical focus for Forbes and the entire leadership team.
